Tom Downs

Tom Downs, a Lansing Michigan attorney, political activist, election law specialist and, was a delegate to the Michigan Constitutional Convention in 1961-1962 and later served as a member of the Board of Control of the Grand Valley State Colleges.

The papers of Tom Downs were placed in the Archives of Labor and Urban Affairs between April 1976 and May, 1979 and were opened for research in August, of 1983 and consist primarily of administrative reports, correspondence, and memoranda relating to the termination of the Thomas Jefferson College of the Grand Valley State Colleges a proposal that was presented to the Board of Control when Mr. Downs was a member in 1979.

Additional items include personal correspondence between Mr. Downs and state and national legislators.
